Job Description

As an Inside sale representative, you will be a pivotal member of our sales team. This position will be responsible for conducting promotional items consultations with both existing and prospective clients. You will be responsible for sourcing, presenting, and managing promotional items as well as attending industry events and trade shows. 

The Promotional Items Specialist for Trade Shows and Events is responsible for designing, sourcing, and implementing promotional strategies with items that increase brand visibility, generate interest, and foster meaningful relationships with potential and current customers. 

Key responsibilities

  • Promotional Products Consultation:
    Conduct detailed consultations with existing and prospective clients about potential promotional items.
    Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales to ensure alignment with overarching sales strategies.
  • Product Knowledge:
    Stay updated with the latest trends in promotional items and branding solutions.
    Recommend products that align with the client’s brand, goals, and event themes.
    Assist clients in visualizing the impact of chosen promo items within their event space. 
  • Content Creation
    Write informative and engaging blog articles about promotional items and industry trends.
    Use these articles to boost our brand image, generate interest in our products, and educate our audience. 
  • Sales Development:
    Identify new business opportunities within the trade show and exhibition sector.
    Engage with leads and prospects, introducing them to our range of promotional products.
    Develop customized proposals based on client requirements, showcasing the value and benefits of the promotional items offered. 
  • Supplier Liaison:
    Obtain quotes from suppliers for different promotional items.
    Negotiate to ensure the best quality at the most competitive prices.
  • Quoting and Invoicing:
    Prepare quotes for clients based on supplier prices and additional costs.
    Manage the invoicing process, ensuring all charges are accurate and clearly explained.
  • Order Management:
    Monitor the fulfillment of orders, ensuring suppliers meet deadlines. Address any issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Industry Engagement:
    Attend relevant industry trade shows and events.
    Use these opportunities to network, gather insights, and stay updated on the latest trends.

Requirements & qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the promotional items industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of trending promotional items and ability to conduct market research.
  • Excellent writing skills for creating engaging blog content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant invoicing software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to trade shows and events.
